Catalaphyllia jardinei, also known as Elegance coral, brings movement to a marine aquarium with its expanded polyps and flowing tentacles. This category brings together our Catalaphyllia specimens. With WYSIWYG, you receive the exact animal in the original photographs. Check each listing's size information: an expanded polyp needs considerably more room than its skeleton alone.
Placement, lighting and water movement
Choose a secure position with space between corals. Acclimate Catalaphyllia gradually to the lighting; moderate, indirect flow allows its tentacles to move freely. A direct jet should not continually force the tissue against the skeleton. Small suitable food portions when a feeding response is visible, together with stable water chemistry, support careful husbandry. Watch prolonged polyp retraction or tissue loss closely.
Choosing the right specimen
Compare original photos, size details and the individual description before choosing your Elegance coral. Our photographs show animals under blue aquarium lighting; their colours may look different under other lights. Our guide to acclimating corals after delivery helps you prepare.
