Reef aquarium care
- Lighting: Low to moderate; acclimate gradually.
- Flow: Gentle to moderate and indirect. Avoid a strong direct jet onto the tissue.
- Water parameters: 24–26 °C, salinity 34–35 PSU, alkalinity 7–8.5 dKH, calcium 410–450 mg/l, magnesium 1,250–1,400 mg/l.
- Nutrients: Nitrate approximately 5–15 mg/l and phosphate 0.03–0.10 mg/l.
- Feeding: Small meaty coral foods may be offered sparingly. Avoid overfeeding.
Placement in the aquarium
Place freely on sand or in the lower reef. Protect fleshy tissue from sharp edges and leave space from neighbouring corals.
These are guideline ranges. Stable water chemistry and gradual adjustments matter more than reaching one exact number.
