Deltec CR Twin-Tech 1500 calcium reactor

Description

The Deltec CR Twin-Tech 1500 (CRTT 1500) is an automated calcium reactor for marine and reef aquariums. Its two-chamber system saturates water with CO2 and then supplies reactor water to the aquarium at intervals. The controller, float switch and flow meter control this process. Match output to actual calcium and alkalinity consumption.

Included equipment and additional requirements

The manufacturer lists a media chamber, trickle chamber with float switch, controller with separate power supply, circulation pump and connections, feed pump with intake filter, low-voltage solenoid, connection hoses, non-return valves and baseplate as standard. CO2 cylinder, pressure regulator, CO2 tubing and reactor media are not included. The optional controller stand and power supply for the 10 V interface are also not included.

Installation, monitoring and safety

Install on a stable level surface with access to lids, connections and pumps. Rinse suitable reactor media before filling and follow the model-specific fill guidance. Install the CO2 system with suitable tubing, non-return valve and regulator according to the manufacturer; check connections for leaks. Secure the CO2 cylinder and provide sufficient ventilation. Keep the controller, power supplies and electrical connections dry, and disconnect from mains before maintenance. Monitor calcium, alkalinity and pH, and adjust output gradually. A reactor does not replace regular water testing.
