Description
Favites Candy Corn WYSIWYG / 531 – colonial Favites LPS coral.
You will receive the exact coral pictured.
Reef aquarium care
- Difficulty: moderate.
- Lighting: low to moderate; roughly 70–170 PAR to start, adjusting gradually.
- Flow: moderate and indirect; water should circulate around the colony without exposing tissue.
- Placement: secure in the lower to middle reef with space for growth.
- Spacing: allow room from other corals, initially around 10–20 cm, and watch for possible night-time sweeper tentacles.
- Feeding: occasionally offer small coral or frozen foods if the polyps take them.
Water parameters and acclimation
Aim for approximately 24–26 °C and salinity of about 34–35 PSU. Test alkalinity, calcium and magnesium regularly and keep them stable. Acclimate new corals gradually to light and flow, keep nutrients within the range that works for your reef and avoid abrupt changes.
These are starting points, not exact targets for every specimen. Watch tissue and polyp response after introduction and adjust placement only gradually.
