- Lighting: moderate to strong (approx. 180–350 PAR)
- Flow: strong and alternating, without continuously directing a jet at the tissue
- Nutrients: nitrate approx. 2–10 mg/l, phosphate approx. 0.02–0.08 mg/l
- Water parameters: 24–26 °C, salinity 34–35 PSU, alkalinity 7–8.5 dKH, calcium 410–450 mg/l, magnesium 1,250–1,400 mg/l
- Feeding: relies mainly on light; offer fine coral food sparingly, at most about once a week
