Plerogyra/Nemenzophyllia turbida – fox coral offered as Plerogyra/Nemenzophyllia turbida, with folded tissue.
You receive the exact specimen shown in the original photographs. Specimen 1489. The photographs were taken under blue aquarium lighting; colours can look different under your own lighting.
Size stated in the offer: 4 cm.
Offered as German aquaculture (DNZ). Give it a stable position and gradually acclimate it to your lighting and flow.
Light: low to moderate; protect it from intense direct lighting. Flow: gentle and indirect to avoid pressing tissue against the skeleton.
Secure in a sheltered lower reef position with room for the expanded tissue.
Supported by light; offer very fine suspended food sparingly if needed, without pressing large pieces into the tissue.
Handle only the rigid base when moving it. Observe tissue expansion after introduction before changing its position again.
As a general reef starting point: 24–26 °C, salinity 34–35 PSU, alkalinity 7–8.5 dKH, calcium 410–450 mg/l and magnesium 1,250–1,400 mg/l. Stability matters more than abruptly chasing a number. Avoid complete nutrient depletion and check trends rather than reacting to a single reading.
For a consistent testing routine, see our reef water testing guide.
