Description
The Salifert pH test measures saltwater pH using a colour comparison. Its measurement range is pH 7.4–8.6. It is useful for routine checks and for observing changes throughout the day.
Using and interpreting the test
Read the colour under neutral lighting rather than blue aquarium lights. Test at a similar time each day when tracking a trend; compare a sample before the lights come on with one near the end of the lighting period to observe daily variation. pH and alkalinity are different parameters. Confirm an unusual reading and check gas exchange and alkalinity before adding a buffer.
Use the enclosed instructions for your test version. Reagents are for water testing only; do not return the tested sample to the aquarium, and keep the kit out of children's reach.
