Tropic Marin Precision Density Hydrometer
Precision hydrometer made from mouth-blown glass for measuring density in marine aquariums. Article 51001 measures density in kg/l, not specific gravity. Measuring range 1.018–1.028 kg/l, resolution 0.0001 kg/l; the manufacturer specifies a maximum deviation of 0.001 at 25 °C. A measuring cylinder is not included with this individual item.
Use and care
Bring the seawater sample to 25 °C and use a sufficiently deep measuring cylinder. Immerse the clean, dry hydrometer and allow it to float freely. Read at the water surface, not at the raised meniscus. Choose the range suitable for the aquarium inhabitants; the manufacturer recommends 1.022–1.024 kg/l at 25 °C. Remove salt residues with tap or RO water after use and handle the glass carefully.
